The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free-agent wide receiver Torry Holt to a three-year deal that includes $4 million in guarantees, and incentives could push the total to $20 million, NFL.com reports. The 32-year-old veteran was released by the St. Louis Rams in a cost cutting move last month. The Rams are the only team he has played for in his career, but the team chose to move towards an overall younger roster. A couple of months back it was reported that the NBA, on behalf of its teams, was creating a $200 million line of credit with JPMorgan and other banks. More recently, Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan made a presentation to NBA owners in New York about the current recession and its effects. The fact that this is occurring during the NBA playoffs is indicative of how serious a concern this is. The Associated Press and the National Football League today announced an exclusive agreement that makes the AP the worldwide licensing agent of NFL still images for commercial use. Under the agreement, the AP will be able to sell its own NFL images, reserved until now for editorial purposes, for commercial use. In addition, the AP will now license NFL-owned event photos for commercial use and sell them for editorial purposes. With its popularity growing, the NFL is considering having the Draft start on Thursday in prime time next year, dedicating an entire day to just the first round. As reported by the Dallas Morning News: NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday the league was discussing the possibility of staging the first round of the 2010 draft on a Thursday evening, the second and third rounds Friday evening and the final four rounds Saturday.
