Sorry, Eagles: Larry Fitzgerald will remain a Cardinal
Shutdown Corner — Larry Fitzgerald's dazzling website is breaking the news that Fitzgerald has signed a 4-year, $40 million deal with the Cardinals. $30 million of the deal, according to the website, is guaranteed. There had been trade rumors surrounding Fitzgerald, most notably involving the Eagles. Rumors had Philly offering a package of Lito Sheppard and Reggie Brown for Fitzgerald, but for some reason, the Cardinals wouldn't bite on that dynamite combo.  I guess when you're dealing with a team like the Cardinals, though, it doesn't hurt to ask. But it does make the Eagles 0-for-2 with high-profile receivers, having struck ...

Fitzgerald re-signs; will numbers decline?
Sports - Pancake Blocks — Larry Fitzgerald finally re-signed with the Cardinals, with the last negotiating point being that he could break the news himself to push traffic to his website . Okay, I made that last part up, although honestly I wouldn't be surprised. Fitzgerald took some public hits for dragging the negotiations out, but it was the organization's fault and responsibility. They made the contract and they made it highly difficult to meet his contract escalators. He met them - good for him.

Fitzgerald agreed to extend his deal with the Cardinals, signing a 4 year, 40 million dollar deal. You have to hand it to the normally incompetent Cardinals, not only did they find a way to keep their star receiver, they got him on the cheap. 10 million a year is a steal for a player of his talent.
