The Spectrum saw it's final National Hockey League hockey game ever on Saturday afternoon as the Flyers defeated Carolina 4-2 in a pre-season game. Mike Richards summoned the ghost of Rod Brind'Amour from Game 5 of Philly's 1997 series with Pittsburgh (Mario Lemieux's first last game) and potted two short-handed goals en route to victory. The Flyers AHL team, the Phantoms, who call the Spectrum home, will close out the building later this spring. The parent and minor club will face off on October 7th.
