The Detroit Pistons fired head coach Flip Saunders today three days after the team was bounced from the Eastern Conference Finals for the third straight season. This move does not shock me and rather comes as I expected.
Saunders' coaching style often clashed with players, namely Rasheed Wallace. I don't think he ever gained their respect.

The Pistons have fired Flip Saunders after three seasons in which he led the team to the Eastern Conference finals.
No replacement has been named, but a press conference announcing Michael Curry as the new coach is expected sometime this week.

In his three seasons, the Pistons were 176-70 in the regular season and 30-21 in the postseason, but they lost in the conference finals each year.
