Simulation: BCS +1
The Stankoniforous Files — ... style is remarkably similar to Tebow's. UF's D is more experienced as well. #3 Florida vs Utah. The Utes get consideration because they are the lone undefeated team in the BCS system. I only saw snippets of the bowl game against Alabama so I can't exactly break this down, however, the whole SEC team speed would overwhelm the Utes goes out the window for obvious reasons. This would be the most intriguing of the simulations. On second thought, the nightmare didn't come true. Florida took the AP title. Was that correct? How about we throw all this ...

Morning Coffee Frames The Offseason
Burnt Orange Nation — ... Number 4. Texas officially finishes 4th in the AP Poll, behind Florida, Utah, and USC. Though some may not like the ordering, there's not much to get worked up about. Texas fans' gripe should be with the voters who sent the wrong Big 12 team to Miami. Whether the 'Horns would have beat Florida last night, we'll never know, but since the system didn't break Texas' way this year -- and since Utah and USC accomplished plenty themselves -- there's no sense worrying much about the top four's final ordering. A split title impossible after the bowl results, ...

FLORIDA WINS AP TITLE
NBC Sports - College Football Talk — ... crowns an undisputed champion, the AP poll takes a contrarian routee of being non-contrarian. We’re probably reaching a bit, something we never do at PFT.  (Eye roll.  Fart.)  But, still, Utah’s performance in the Sugar Bowl demonstrated that it is as good as if not better than the supposedly “best” teams.  So since Utah finished undefeated, Utah should be the champions. But, hey, at least West Virginia finished No. 23.  Not I’m not completely pissed. The full list, by the way, is here .

Speed Read: Gators Win BCS Title, Nation Yawns
SPORTSbyBROOKS — ... We know that the coaches are supposedly required to give their #1 vote to the BCS winner (although Utah’s Kyle Whittingham says he’s voting for his team), but the AP title was up for grabs. And even though Florida’s win could be considered somewhat lackluster (the defensive effort was really good, I’ll admit), they got 48 of 64 first-place votes, with the Utes receiving the other 16 and finishing #2. Way to make a statement, there, disgruntled sportswriters of America. ...
