AS EXPECTED, BARBER CLAIMS CREDIT FOR GIANTS WIN
Published 2/8/2008 by Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com
We recently observed — half-jokingly — that former Giants running back Tiki Barber would find a way to claim credit for his old team’s victory in Super Bowl XLII. And our sort-of joke ended up being sort of right. Though the article reads like it’s the idea of William C. Rhoden of the New York Times and that Tiki is only partially agreeing, the gist of the item is obvious — his departure and ensuing criticism of men like coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning helped the team get to a level that it never was able to achieve ...

That thud you heard

That was just your new Golden State Warriors . Chris Webber had 4 points and 1 rebound in 13 minutes in his first/eighty-third game with his new/old team. (San Francisco Chronicle) It's old news, but Steve Spagnuolo is staying with New York for a buttload of money . Another sought-after coordinator under an oldish type head coach staying on staff? Hmm, I say. Hmmm. (New York Post) John Lynch knows the Chargers are good, but the rest of the AFC West is really, really bad . (Denver Post) The Bonds legacy in San Francisco will never die . Peter Magowan's obituary is going to read something like, "...blah, blah, blah, saved baseball in San Francisco, blah, blah, blah, ...

... themselves.”Are you serious?!? Come on Tiki....even someone with the biggest ego couldn't possibly begin to believe that crap. I can understand being happy for the guys, but saying you helped is beyond ridiculous. So there you have it folks. It was his plan all along. It wasn't to try and make a splash in the media and to make a name for himself. No it was to motivate his former teammates. You are a special one Tiki...I can't wait until next year. There are No I’s in Team, but there are Two in Tiki
Published 2/8/2008 by Patrick Imig at The Big Lead
While watching the Super Bowl XLII post-game celebration, I jokingly said to one of my JoeSportsFan colleagues that I couldn’t wait to see Tiki Barber take credit for Eli Manning’s playoff run and the Giants’ improbable championship victory.  Said colleague replied he thought it was likely.  * Thanks to reader Greg D. for the photo. Nearly a week later, Barber is doing just that… kind of.  In an article by William C. Rhoden, Barber acknowledges that he had an impact on this year’s team. “I feel great joy for them because I know in a lot of ways I helped a lot of guys on that team. I ...

Barber is still blabbing about the Giants
Published 2/9/2008 by ETVal <info@bigblueview.com> at Big Blue View: Front Page Posts
Why can't Tiki Barber just go away once and for all and leave the Giants alone? It seems that Blabber, with a huge assist from William C. Rhoden of the New York Times, is claiming some credit for helping the Giants win Super Bowl XLII. ...
