Pat Riley Thinks Shaq Should Be an All-Star
Published 1/13/2008 by Brett Edwards at FanHouse
Filed under: Heat, Eastern, NBA All-Star Game The latest returns from the All-Star voting show Dwight Howard with a comfortable lead at the center spot over Shaquille O'neal. If the results hold up -- and with a margin that big they probably will -- then it's very likely that Shaq's streak of playing in 14 consecutive All-Star games will come to an end.
There's only one backup center that's chosen for each squad, and Rasheed Wallace is the favorite to get that spot. So the question is, should an ...
All-Star Voting Is Officially A Joke

... What’s going on, sorry for not being around this weekend, but I was spending the weekend in lovely and sunny Florida. Now that I am back in beautiful snowy New Jersey, I am back posting here at NBA Source. What I am going to be talking about today is something that has pissed me off for a long time now. All-Star voting, how its run, and the idiot fans who vote for them. Before I vent, here are the final voting numbers before they become official (As of Jan. 10th). ...

MW: All Star Conspiracy? Or is it just Crap?
Published 1/25/2008 by Brinson at Brahsome - Care To Get Nice?
Congratulations to Allen Iverson for being named a starter for the Western Conference in the 2008 All Star Game. But my question, and I’m certainly not alone, is how did Iverson manage to walk T-Mac down?
Two weeks ago, with the fourth returns posted on NBA.com, McGrady had a pretty substantial lead:
Tracy McGrady (Hou) 907,639
Allen Iverson (Den) 827,273
And when the finals were announced yesterday, Iverson had utterly walked him down, winning the second Western guard spot by a decent ...

... One of the biggest stories of fan voting was Allen Iverson’s narrow, come-from-behind win to secure the second guard spot out west. Regardless of the fact that Chris Paul and Steve Nash should have been fighting for the other spot, it was Tracy McGrady who was in line to start following the fourth returns. McGrady, however, probably wasn't too upset upon hearing about losing his lead in the final quarter mile of balloting. If you recall, McGrady attempted a rarely-used strategy in elections, the ...
