WHITLOCK TORCHES FOWLER, ESPN
Zoner Sports —
... Fox Sports’ Jason Whitlock has an excellent column on how ESPN is bereft of any independent thinking. Titled “The Story ESPN Doesn’t Want You to Know”, he has a special shot from his flamethrower for Chris Fowler: ...
Whitlock: “Sports media is dying by suicide and ESPN is Dr. Jack Kevorkian. You’re dying, too. ESPN just hasn’t told you yet.”
The Big Lead —
... And then Whitlock’s Fox Sports column came out on the same topic … except he took the opportunity to pummel ESPN for its shoddy coverage of Ball State and college football in general. It’s epic Whitlock. The best stuff is reserved for saintly Chris Fowler, who really should step up and tell everyone why he dropped BSU out of his Top 25 last week. ...

Sports stories from Newsday —
... But first, in the spirit of peace on Earth and goodwill toward men, here is a classic of the Jason Whitlock scorched-earth approach to column writing, in which in the process of defending the honor of his alma mater, Ball State, he gets into the holiday mood by calling ESPN "the most evil and destructive force in the sports world" and "the enemy of the truth" and adds, "Sports media is dying by suicide and ESPN is Dr. Jack Kevorkian." ...

... When I saw a blurb for this column on Fox Sports.com, I knew I should have put it in this afternoon's links, but I was so eager to get off my slow computer, that I ignored it and it's now become the talk of the blogosphere. It's Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star ripping ESPN for its inattention to Ball State. Good take no prisoners column from Jason. ...
Jason Whitlock Freaking Unleashes on ESPN, Calls Them an 'Enemy of Truth', Etc.

... So I suppose it's not a huge surprise if he throws an occasional dart at them from his column at FOX Sports. Except in his most recent column, the occasional dart suddenly df with regard to the WWL's treatment of Ball State and quarterback ...

... ) Barkley then caught himself and said, “I love LeBron and Stephen A.’s cool.” Uh, wot? If Barkley had said that 18 months ago, the mainstream sports media and blogs would be all atwitter over the hilariously descriptive, yet insightful comment. But I wonder if Barkley would’ve said that if he worked at the WWL. Much like Jason Whitlock’s ...

Washington—"The Walt Disney Co. went on the offensive Wednesday to halt Cablevision System Corp.'s effort to push the Federal Communications Commission into restricting Disney's ESPN from demanding access to the vast majority of cable subscribers. Tremendous Upside Potential —
"Pretty tough to think about the beginning of December." - The White Stripes They're from Michigan, so they clearly know what's up. When I was younger and even stupider, I used to be a huge advocate of a four seasons climate. I think a lot of it had to do with subscribing to the "you need cold weather to appreciate warm weather" theory. Not anymore. I want warm weather all the time, summer forever, days where the sun doesn't set until 9pm. I think it was around the age of 16 when my hated of winter really started to develop. It all has to do with driving, really. Cold weather means shoveling, the increased chance of your car not starting, and, probably the ...

Too bad for Ball State. They had a great season. Did Whitlock jinx ‘em?
Niners Nation Scouting Report: Nate Davis, QB Ball State
Niners Nation —
While poking around the Internet yesterday, I came across a report that indicated that only the Indianapolis Colts sent a representative to the Ball State Pro Day. In their analysis of QB Nate Davis, the folks at Rotoworld say:
Davis never should've come out early. He was awful in the Cardinals' last two games and has seemed unprepared for pre-draft activities. He could be this year's version of Andre Woodson, assuming Davis is even drafted at all.
A draft comparison to Andre Woodson is definitely not a good thing for Davis. At one point last year, Andre Woodson was a projected first round pick. On ...
