Fair Play Alive and Well in Serie A
The Offside — ... Brienza, for reminding us what fair play looks like in professional football. You can see in the video that Brienza is through on goal and ready to strike, but lets the ball run out of play instead when he sees that Reggina team mate Bernardo Corradi and Palermo defender Federico Balzaretti have clashed heads and are in a bit of trouble. Palermo went on to win the game, but hats off to Brienza for putting the safety of his fellow pros ahead of his goalscoring stats. [spotted on 101GG ]
