Josh Freeman named starter for Week 9
In a move that will surprise no one, Josh Freeman has been tabbed as the starter for the Bucs.
The bigger surprise would be if he were removed from that position for any reason other than injury. ...

It's official: Freeman is Bucs' starter
ProFootballTalk.com —
We noted earlier that rookie quarterback Josh Freeman was preparing to start for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and now it's official: Bucs coach Raheem Morris has announced that Freeman is his starting quarterback . The Bucs are on their bye this week, giving Freeman some extra time to work with the first-string offense before making the first start of his career against the Green Bay Packers on November 8. Freeman is the Bucs' third starter this season; Byron Leftwich started the first three weeks and Josh Johnson has started the last four. Neither played particularly well for the Bucs, who are 0-7 on the season. A ...

Josh Freeman to get his first NFL start (Nov. 8)
Well this took only a few games sooner than I had originally thought. Let's hope he can turn around (or at least get a win...) for the 0-7 Bucs.
Bucs to start rookie Freeman after the bye
The Scores Report - The National Sports Blog —
The Josh Freeman era has started in Tampa Bay.
Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said Wednesday that the rookie will start at quarterback when the team takes on the Packers next Sunday (following their bye this week). Freeman, a Kansas State product, was the 17th overall pick in April’s draft.
This will be the third quarterback change for the Bucs in 2009, as Freeman replaces Josh Johnson, who replaced Week 1’s starter, Byron Leftwich. Freeman took two sacks and fumbled once while going 2-for-4 for 16 yards in his NFL debut last week against the Patriots in London. He also completed just ...
7-on-7: More Jake Delhomme interceptions on the way
Roto Arcade —
Good news for the Arizona fantasy defense – Jake Delhomme's(notes) interception-making right arm is still in front of the Carolina passing game. John Fox isn't the type of head coach to make knee-jerk changes in his starting lineup (think back to the DeAngelo Williams(notes) vs. DeShaun Foster(notes) days), and on Wednesday Fox made the news official – Delhomme is still the Panthers starting quarterback. Of course it's not like Fox is sitting on a lot of other viable options here; the other QBs in town are ...
Josh Freeman to Take Over as Bucs' QB
FanHouse —
by Matt Snyder Filed under: Buccaneers, NFC South, NFL QuarterbacksIt was only a matter of time, really. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going nowhere this season. They are 0-7 and have been outscored 203-96 in the process. The drafted Josh Freeman in the first round (17th overall pick) of the draft this past April to be their quarterback of the future. You aren't going anywhere in 2009, so it's time to start playing for the future. Thus, it makes sense to hand him the keys at this point. The Bucs are going to do exactly that when they head to Green Bay for Week 9's ...

Buried in a Pewter Report article about Josh Freeman being named the starter is a little nugget about his listed weight of 248 being a little off. And by a little, I mean a couple dozen pounds.
On Wednesday, offensive coordinator Greg Olson revealed that Freeman weighed 270 pounds, but later clarified that comment when PewterReport.com asked if he misspoke. Freeman is listed at 6-foot-6, 248 pounds on the team roster. The Pewter Report staff has noticed that Freeman has gotten bulkier since May when he debuted at the team’s rookie mini-camp. ...
