 From Deep - Golf-gate? Links6
Sam Mitchell's pet phrase in situations like this is “Nunyo,” as in “None of your business.” Did he play golf late Sunday afternoon the day before the Raptors lost their elimination game against the Orlando Magic?“Nunyo.” Did he make a late decision to change the Raptors travel plans to accommodate said golf game? “Nunyo.” Does he think it strange that in the past week two influential ... Fore What Purpose?

Golf? We are talking about golf? Come on, man…..GOLF? Seriously? While I can appreciate that the media has to open up some fresh wounds to keep the vultures hungry, but what professionals do in their private time should never be a concern to us, unless it’s illegal. How many personal performances do you think are affected by players dancing a bit too much, drinking a bit too much, catching the late screening of a movie, or getting up at 8am to take their kids to school? That ever written about? If you haven’t won an away game in the playoffs, would you not rather practice on ...

... Anyways... I want to link to Mr. Grange's very interesting blog posting about Smitch and his boss. I don't want to give much away, other than Mr. Grange has a great reply to criticisms of the blog in the comments section. You shouldn't miss it (you also shouldn't miss it because it will increase your vocabulary-- I plan to use "Nunyo" on an everyday basis from now onward). ...

Did Mitchell’s Tee Time Interfere With Raptors’ Sleep?
Published 5/2/2008 by Marcel Mutoni at SLAM Online
by Marcel Mutoni Strange, hilarious stuff out of Toronto: Rumor has it that the day before they were eliminated by Orlando, Sam Mitchell made the team fly out of Canada at 8 in the morning so that he could hit the links in sunny Florida. The Globe and Mail has the details: We’re going to go out on a limb here: There’s a very real chance that Mitchell played golf on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Orlando, and there’s distinct possibility that Darrick Martin was with him. And might Colangelo have been less than thrilled at the optics, if not the fact of said golf game? Again, just speculating, but yes. And were some players less than thrilled at having to get up early on Sunday ...

Much Ado About Smitch's Golf Game
Published 5/2/2008 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse
Filed under: Raptors, NBA Rumors, TorontoI think the world's got D'Antoni-in-Toronto fever, because, as The Globe and Mail's Michael Grange notes, the media's pounding Raptors coach Sam Mitchell with hit pieces. We've been over L'Affair Vescey, in which New York Post scribe Peter Vescey published a vicious indictment of Smitch's preparation only to completely retract it a few days later. More recently, Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski said Smitch altered the team's weekend flight and practice schedule so he could spend Sunday afternoon on the fairways of Orlando. After the Raptors went down 3-1 to Orlando on Saturday, sources said [Bryan] Colangelo flipped out over ...
