Furcal has another setback
He still feels good, but Dr. Watkins examined him over the weekend and determined that he won't be ready to play in actual games for at least another two weeks. After that, or whenever he IS ready, he would need a rehab of a week or so. That means best-case scenario is he is activated the week before the All-Star break -- and so far, there is nothing about this whole matter that would suggest the best-case scenario is the most likely one.

Well, this is an interesting development: Tony Jackson reports that Rafael Furcal has had another setback, and his return date has been pushed back until the week before the All-Star break, i.e. the last week of June. Nomar Garciaparra will get the starting job at short upon his return, which should be after he finishes a rehab stint, commencing at the end of this week.
