XM All-Star Futures Game will Feature Pedro Alvarez Show
Rum Bunter | A Pittsburgh Pirates Blog — Ladies and Gentlemen, Pedro Alvarez will be playing in St. Louis.  He will join AAA pitcher Brad Lincoln on the field for the nine inning showcase of future major league players.  Hopefully.  Now there will be only one other Pirate to be announced, this one for the big game, just be certain it is Andrew McCutchen.   Vote early.  Vote often. Five other players from Pedro’s draft class will join them on the US Team.  Now how do I get my hands on one of those jerseys?? Pedro Alvarez and Brad Lincoln to represent U.S. in Futures Game
North Side Notch — The rosters for the 2009 Futures Game are out and the Bucs have 2 representatives on Team USA. 2006 1st round pick, Brad Lincoln , and 2008 1st round pick, Pedro Alvarez . Lincoln, 24, was 1-5 with a 2.28 ERA in 13 starts for AA-Altoona and is currently 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA after one start in AAA. Alvarez, 22, batted .247 with 14 HR and 55 RBI for Lynchburg and is currently hitting .231 with 2 HR and 5 RBI in 3 games with Altoona. The game will be played at Busch Stadium on July 12th at 2 PM.

Tazawa, Kang, Lo Selected for Futures Game

In 14 starts for Double-A Portland, Tazawa is 7-4 with a 2.92 ERA. Opponents are hitting just .225 against him.
