In this weekend's first edition of the 2008 SuperClasico, Landon Donovan scored three goals and assisted on another, as the LA Galaxy won in emphatic 5-2 fashion against their Home Depot Center rivals Chivas USA. The hat trick by Donovan brought his goal-scoring total for the season to eight, enough reason certainly for the North American Soccer Reporters to once again award him MLS Player of the Week...

"It was a great play," said Donovan. "He's played well in the times he's played. He wants to score so getting (Gordon's first) goal was big."
Before the season ever began, many people felt the Galaxy attack would be among the most potent in the league. On Saturday against Chivas USA, they showed it indeed might be something to be reckoned with as the season progresses.
