GALAXY: What's new at the David Beckham Academy ?

February 20 Newsletter --- Los Angeles Academy @ The Home Depot Center

--- Beckham Academy Coach Steve Myles Featured at the 2008 NSCAA Convention ---

The 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) annual convention is described as “the worlds largest annual gathering of soccer coaches.” This year’s convention in Baltimore, Maryland was no exception, with 8,000 attendees.

Highlighting the list of top presenters included adidas featured clinician Steve Myles, assistant director for the David Beckham Academy (DBA) in Los Angeles. Over 300 coaches at the convention attended the Myles’ session and were treated to a variety of crossing and finishing drills designed to compliment all soccer skill levels, from the club player all the way up to the professional player. Coaches from the David Beckham Academy are regularly invited to participate in elite soccer conventions and tournaments across the United States, but this is the first time that a DBA coach has been featured as a top presenter.

Among the other elite coaches who presented at the 2008 NSCAA convention in January include Gerard Houllier, French technical director; Steve McClaren, former head coach of the England National Team; Willi Ruttensteiner, Austrian technical director; and Peter Van Dort of the Dutch Football Federation.
