One solution to make the playoffs
Published 8/28/2008 by Jessica Lee (noreply@blogger.com) at Let's Go Yankees Blog
There are two stunning numbers I read after yesterday game. I can't believe it. Yankees' record is 8-44 when trail after 4th inning(4?? Are you kidding me??) Yankees score 3 runs or less for 56 times so far this season.(42%) By the way, as Peter points out on his blog, Yankees are on pace to score 738 runs which will be 185 runs less than last season A lot of people may say Yankees' offense is sucked. That's why Yankees is at the position they are right now. Yankees certainly lose some big run ...

Aceves In, Robertson Out

Peter Abraham is reporting that Dave Robertson was sent to Triple-A and Alfredo Aceves has been added to the big league team. Aceves had an ERA of 4.12 in 10 games at Scranton-Wilkes Barre. However, he only allowed 6 ER in his last three starts there - covering 18 IP. Lefties were hitting only .213 against him in Triple-A…and right-handed batters averaged .291 against him.

Aceves Promoted; Robertson Demoted
Published 8/29/2008 by Patrick at YanksBlog.com
... that the Yankees have promoted pitcher Alfredo Aceves from Triple-A. He becomes the first Yankee to wear the number 91. Why? "But I'm not nuts," he told Peter Abraham . To make room, David Robertson was demoted. Robertson got off to a great start, allowing just 2 earned runs in his first 12 and 1/3 innings, but he has been largely ineffective for the past month. In the 13 and 1/3 innings that followed that dominant span, he has allowed 16 earned runs.
