Game Four Does Not Sway Kenny Anderson's View of Kobe Bryant
The easiest, color by numbers story to write in the wake of the Celtics' brilliant comeback victory over the Lakers starts with the words "Kobe Bryant should never again be compared with Michael Jordan." However, former All-Star Kenny Anderson does not think that Bryant's skills should be judged based on what happened in game four.

Michael Jordan and Shaq Breathe A Sigh Of Relief….
sportaphile.com 6/18/2008 — It’ll never be admitted or acknowledged, but I know Shaquille O’neal and Michael Jordan smiled as the Boston Celtics hoisted their championship trophy last night. The mythical fourth championship on Kobe Bryant's mantle indirectly impacts both stars....
Lakers - Celtics Game 6 Live ThreadFanIQ Blog
Sorry for the delay in getting the post up. I won't talk much so you can get right to the action. By the way, there's been some talk that since Kobe has had a somewhat poor Finals, that proves that he isn't as good as Michael Jordan. I won't disagree, but it's probably not a good idea to base that claim on one bad Finals. Why? Well, our buddy Baller Blogger broke it down and ...
Kobe vs. MJBallerBlogger.com
“This series has shown that Bryant is not Jordan. That should have been understood already. But sometimes we let the mythology of Jordan overshadow the reality. Do you think Jordan never had a Finals performance with numbers like the 27 points and 43 percent shooting Bryant’s experiencing against the Celtics? You must not have watched [...]

Hold the Champagne: Celtics Lose Tough Game 5Sports of Boston
The Celtics fought the whole way after going down early in the first quarter by 19 points. However, they were not able to come back all the way against the Lakers in Game 5 of the NBA Finals as they had in Game 4. Eddie House hit a three pointer with a few seconds left, but the game was already out of reach as the Lakers won 103-98 and brought the series back to 3-2. The Celtics were led by ...
Kobe demanding trade again after Game 4 lossSerious Sports News Network
LOS ANGELES, CA — During a spectacular regular season that ended with the Lakers in the top spot in the Western Conference, and a playoff run that landed them in the NBA Finals, it appeared all was well in Los Angeles. Apparently that is not the case – it seems that a few tough losses in the Finals was enough for Kobe Bryant ’s trade demand to once again rear its ugly. After ...
Zen Master’s Tank Of Motivation Runneth DrySPORTSbyBROOKS
One of the biggest knocks against Lakers coach Phil Jackson is that his success is too closely tied to the abilities of his players, and that a guy with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen on one team and Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal on another hasn’t had to do any “real coaching.” So how did this alleged Hall-of-Fame mentor rally his troops after they blew a ...
Enough with Kobe is equal to MJ!The 5th Corner
For once I'm going back in time to talk about a Tar Heel, maybe the most well known Tar Heel across the world, probably the best ever to have played the game of basketball. Yes, I am talking about Michael Jordan, and the reason I'm doing this short blog is because, after Thursday's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, I think it's time for all the media that has been ...
Kobe Bryant: Can We Stop With This Now?Intentional Foul
Hey Mark Jackson, I have a question — is it safe to say you can stop with all these Jordan/Kobe comparisons now? Please? While it’s true the Finals series is far from over and there is still a chance Kobe Bean could do something spectacular to save his Lakers but until that happens, please shelve these Jordan/Bryant comparisons. Please? Marc Stein said it even better than I ...
The Worst Choke-Job in NBA Finals History Has Lakers Down 3-1Dime Magazine
Kobe Bryant (photo. Chris Sembrot) Along with embarrassing themselves in front of the whole basketball-watching world, falling into a 3-1 series hole that’s likely insurmountable, and proving they simply don’t deserve to win a championship, the Lakers also allowed John Starks some long-awaited absolution. By blowing a 24-point lead at home and losing to the Celtics [...]
“He’s Alright, But He’s Not Real…”Sportaphile
Kobe may be the best player to step on an NBA floor since Jordan retired… but he’s no Michael Jordan. It almost hurts me to say that, because I’m a Kobe fan. Although the series isn’t officially concluded, theres about a 0.1% chance the Lakers can dig themselves out of this hole. The Boston Celtics clawed themselves out of a 24 deficit and went on to stun the Lakers ...
Kobe Drops 36 on Celtics, Lakers Take Game 3 at StaplesDime Magazine
Kobe Bryant (photo. Chris Sembrot) Win or lose, you knew before Game 3 of Lakers/Celtics got underway that Kobe Bryant wasn’t just going to give this one away. The last time we saw Kobe on the Staples Center floor — back when L.A. had beaten the Spurs to get to the Finals — you couldn’t have [...]
Waiting for the “Michael” MomentDime Magazine
It’s pretty clear that in order for the Lakers to have any shot of salvaging this Finals series, Kobe has to get his team on the right track. So far, the Lakers have been tissue-paper soft, they’ve been intimidated by the Celtics and Kobe hasn’t been himself. He’s looked frustrated, exasperated and angry. Instead of [...]
NBA Finals 2008: Game 2 Preview - Questions need AnswersThe Hoop Doctors
June 7, 2008 – Dr. Browntorious If there is one lesson that could be pressed upon us as soon as this Sunday, it’s that it may not be wise to taunt, prod, and ridicule a competitor as fierce and potent as Kobe Bryant. The “Black Mamba” is probably the fiercest competitor the NBA has seen since the retirement of the great one, Michael Jordan. Competing the way he does at this level, Kobe ...
