myespn.go.com 5/7/2008 — Celtics vs. Cavaliers Tony Massarotti of the Boston Herald: "Maybe we had this all wrong. Maybe the real question is how the Cleveland Cavaliers intend to stop Kevin Garnett. For the moment, what we know for sure is that the answer is not Joe ...
NBA Playoffs: What Was That? An Exhibition?Intentional Foul
I’m not sure what that was last night, but I don’t think it was playoff-level basketball we were watching. I am, of course, talking about Game One of the Celtics/Cavaliers series that got off to a whimper instead of the expected bang. Oh, the game was close but it wasn’t because great basketball was being played. In fact, it was just the opposite — and boy, it ...
Damn Lebron- Celtics 76 Cavs 72 !!!SidelineShow.com-SportsTalk Radio
The King came into Boston on Tuesday to start game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals the Cavs Vs. Celtics. This season Lebron James has average 32 points per game against the Celtics. Last night James was supposed to keep the pressure on the Celtics and maybe the reason why the Cavs beat the [...]
Round Two Game One Numbers And WordsWaitingForNextYear
Game One was a frustrating affair. If you are the kind of person who likes to pick at your scabs, you can follow our frustration in the live blog or you can read Rick’s thoughts after the game. What follows in my analysis in numbers and words. -We start with LeBron in victory, so we’ll get [...]
Worst of the Night: May 6, 2008Basketbawful
Okay. Let me preface this post by saying that I doubts that I'd be able to do a full WotN entry with only one game on the slate. But man oh man ...this particular game came through in spades. Cleveland Cavaliers: They scored only 72 points, shot 30 percent from the field, committed 17 turnovers, and added to their the all-time worst record in Game 1 road games (0-for-14). Yay, team.  ...
Game 1 MVP’s: Pierce / PoseyRedsArmy.com - The Voice Of Celtics Fans
Let’s get one thing straight right away: KG was a monster that shut a lot of people up. He carried the team offensively, and he drove hard the hoop for what turned out to be a game winning layup. Awesome game for KG… and that aggressiveness should scare Cavs fans. But I want to make sure that the defensive effort on LeBron isn’t lost… especially since the ...
Celtics Win Ugly , But Win 76-72 Over CavsNew England Sports Blog
As the saying goes a win is a win. The Celtics beat Cleveland 76-72 to take game one of this second round playoff series. How did they do it when Ray Allen did not score a single point. Paul Pierce scored only a mere four points. It was the big man Kevin Garnett who penetrated the glass scoring 28 points and snared 8 rebounds. The knock on Garnett was that he was a great player but couldn't do ...
Celtics Win a Sloppy Game 1Sports of Boston
The Celtics managed to hold onto the win in game one tonight, despite some sloppy shooting for both teams, but also some great defense on both teams too. It was a low scoring one as well with the Celtics on top 76-72. However, if you told me before the game that Ray Allen would not have any points and Paul Pierce would have only 4 and that the Celtics would go onto win, then I would say that ...
Wednesday's Starting FiveWhat Would Oakley Do?
1. Kevin Garnett. These are the games that your star(s) has to win for you. Those brutal fifth-game-in-eight-nights sort of games when catch-and-shooters can find the target and your hustle guys are gassed are the ones that you need a star to take the team on his shoulders. Kevin Garnett did this last night for the Celtic in Game 1 of the Leastern Conference Semi-Finals against the Cleveland ...
Two-For-Eighteen: Cavs Lose Game One In Boston, 76-72Cleveland Cavaliers
LeBron James was atrocious. Absolutely atrocious. To be fair, Cavs fans have no reason to complain about LeBron. He has done more for the organization than anybody else could do in a lifetime. But with the spotlight of these NBA playoffs now shifting squarely on this Cavaliers-Celtics second round bout, the last person you would expect to come up this small is King James. The fact that he ...
Celtics Out Last Cavaliers In Battle At The Garden 76-72 Win Game OneSlam Dunk Central
The “ Big Ticket ” Kevin Garnett scored a game high 28 points, and he led the Boston Celtics over the Cleveland Cavaliers in game one of their NBA Eastern Conference semi-final series 76-72. This was not a pretty game as both teams missed countless scoring opportunities through out the course of the evening. It was a gritty grind it out affair, not a game that will end up as ...
FuglyRedsArmy.com - The Voice Of Celtics Fans
First and foremost, let me state the Celtics won and in the playoffs that is all that matters. But this was the worst NBA game I’ve ever watched. Before I delve into the ugliness, props to KG for a monster game (28 pts, 8 reb) including a clutch shot that put the Celtics ahead for good 74-72 with 21 seconds left. Sam Cassell had 10 of his 13 points in the final quarter. Perk hauled ...
Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: Game 1 - Open Game ThreadCelticsBlog
The guys over at ROOMOFZEN recently sent me footage of KG's pick on Zaza Pachulia from game 7. This then sent me off on a YouTube tangent that eventually led me to a clip of people reacting to Kevin Garnett entering the league. And it's one of the best YouTube clips I've ever seen:  1. Isiah Thomas explains his ill fated plan to trade up for KG, enroll him in college and only let ...
NBA Playoffs: Some Questions About King James and BostonIntentional Foul
Because they like to stretch everything for TV scheduling purposes, there is only one NBA Playoff game tonight, but it should be a good one. Celtics/Cavs. Who ya got? King James and his fellow LeBrons or the Three-party from Beantown? Can the Celtics find a way to derail the force of nature that is LeBron? Can the Cavaliers hope to stop the Big Three as well as all of Boston’s ...
Celtics vs. Cavaliers PreviewBallerBlogger.com
The Celtics and Cavaliers split their season series 2-2. Both LeBron James and Kevin Garnett missed one of those games to injury. James averaged 32 points per game in the three contests he played in. The Cavaliers won two of those three games. In Boston’s lone regular season victory over the James led Cavaliers, the Cetlics held LeBron to 26 points on 7-for-26 shooting.  ...

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be facing off against the Boston Celtics tonight in the second round of the NBA playoffs, and didn’t you know, they don’t have a chance! The only difference between now, and the beginning of ...
Round 2: Expect a 7-Game Series Against LeBronSports of Boston
After watching the Celtics go seven games with the Hawks, I think it would be a slap in the face to not give the Cavs that much credit. Until the Celtics can prove they can win on the road or show that they can ever lose at home, I’m going with Celtics winning in seven games, with the home team going 7-0 in the series. Here’s a few other reasons why: I wavered choosing the ...
The Many Worsts of the WeekendBasketbawful
Washington Wizards: They talked trash. They said they wanted Cleveland in the first round, that the Cavaliers couldn't defeat them three years in a row. They called LeBron overrated. They thugged the King at every available opportunity. End the end, they weren't just eliminated, they dropped the final game at home in a 105-88 blowout. The Wiz shot poorly (39 percent), had lousy ball ...
