Gerald Green Takes His Cupcakes to Houston
Published 2/21/2008 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse
Filed under: Timberwolves, Rockets, Houston, MinnesotaThe Philadelphia Inquirer's David Aldridge reports Minnesota has agreed to send Gerald Green to Houston for Kirk Synder and a second round pick. Green was considered a major piece of the Kevin Garnett deal, but has not gotten many minutes under Randy Wittman. Green's from Houston -- he has the entire city skyline tattooed on his arm. So, um, I imagine he's happy about the move. Snyder's contract is small and expires this summer, so (unless ...

Welcome Home Young Mr. Green?

According the David Aldridge, the Rockets traded Kirk Snyder and a second round pick for Gerald Green. Do I like it? Hell yes, I think Green has a ton of upside and is only 22 years old. He's extremely athletic and can dunk in socks, I hope this is true

Well, today's trade deadline has passed and unless deals start to trickle in late (which has been known to happen before) it looks like we’re left with the Rockets, Hornets and Grizzlies three-way, Juan Dixon for Primoz Brezec and two mini-deals invloving guys named Green. Yup. Vince Carter is still a Net; Ron Artest is still a King; Mike Miller talked to his wife and kids for no reason; and Channing Frye is still a Blazer. Not that Frye would've noticed anyway. He’s much too busy playing video ...

Von Wafer for Taurean Green
Published 2/21/2008 at ESPN.com - True Hoop - Blog
It has been reported many places by now that the Denver Nuggets have traded little-used Von Wafer to the Blazers for Taurean Green. Green was the high-scorer and emotional leader of the two-time NCAA champion Florida Gators. He's an excellent shooter, and a feisty competitor. When you talk to basketball people who have seen him play, they all rave about Green for any number of reasons -- despite the fact that he is small for the NBA. Green was caught in a minutes trap on a Portland team that loves to play Brandon Roy at ...

Trade deadline update

The deadline is almost here and this has certainly been the most active trading deadline in many a year, and more teams are making moves as we speak. In the last few hours, a few deals have made it to the commissioner’s office for approval. They are as follows, Minnesota trades Gerald Green to Houston for Kirk Snyder and a second round pick. Portland trades Taurean Green to Denver for Von ...

Gerald Green Brings his Cupcake to Houston
The Wolves traded Gerald Green to the Houston Rockets For Kirk Snyder (Above), a second round pick in 2010 and some cash. Green was the odd man out in the core of young players we received from Boston for KG. Its too bad that somebody as athletic as Green couldn't translate that onto the court with the Wolves. The team did the right thing in trading him for a pick and some cash, but I'm ...
The Trade
As you all know, the Blazers pulled the trigger on a deal yesterday, sending the terminally-amusing and hard-nosed Taurean Green to Denver for guard Von Wafer. Here are Wafer's career stats if you need them. Having watched him throughout Summer League this past year I can tell you a couple of things:  He's got an average body and his athleticism is decent but probably not his main ...
Trail Blazers Trade Green To Denver For Wafer
The Portland Trail Blazers released a statement Thursday afternoon, confirming that they had traded guard Taurean Green to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for guard Von Wafer. Blazers Acquire Von Wafer
The Blazers acquired Von Wafer today from the Nuggets, giving Denver Taurean Green. Henry Abbott of TrueHoop reports that Wafer is a potential 15 ppg scorer a la Travis Outlaw. Personally, I've never heard of the guy. What an odd name. "Von Wafer." Huh. Wonder what he looks like...here are some guesses: Let's see how I did: Oh dear.
Taurean Green: I Will Always Remember How I Wanted To Love You
Shrug . First of all, I have nothing against Von Wafer. He can theoretically help fill in for James Jones (I'll take KP's word on that). He's young and athletic. I like him on this team. Taurean Green never got his chance with Portland, but he got considerable burn on this blog. Let the record show, I'm convinced he'll be a good NBA player. I'll miss him. Allow me to rant about why. Of ...

And You Thought Mike James for Juwan Howard Was Worthless!
Gerald Green traded to Houston for Kirk Snyder and a #2 pick. Um, OK. Minnesota never offered Green an extension, so it had no Bird rights (so Houston acquires no Bird rights). Both guys have contracts that expire this off season. Wolves get a low #2. Yuck Grade: Minnesota -- C (they get the #2 and give up a guy who wasn't going to re-sign here under any circumstances) Houston -- D -- they ...
Gerald Green traded to Rockets, Ratliff set to return
The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and surprisingly the Wolves actually made a move. It’s not a move that is going to have any impact on the long-term future of the franchise, but it will probably ease tensions in the locker room. Just before the deadline, Gerald Green was traded to Houston for 6′6″ Kirk Snyder and a second round draft pick. Green hasn’t done ...
Denver Beats Deadline-Does Nothing Major
(Boulder-CO) I have learned through a source close to the Nuggets that, indeed, the Nuggets have traded Von Wafer to Portland for Taurean Green before the trade deadline expired. The deal, which the ink is still drying on, just beat the trade deadline of 1 o'clock MST and bolsters Denver's point guard situation as the team or Chucky Atkins have still not released any information regarding ...
