... Both Brian Sabean and Bruce Bochy received two-year contract extensions today (Tuesday). They improved the team over last season, but they also had a chance to win the wild card and failed to gather the extra pieces needed to push the team over the top. I thought the deadline trades were good deals, but they turned out to be less than adequate. Still, as measured in wins and losses the two did a better job than last season, and now they will be expected to go to the next level in 2010.
