MLB: Giants Bolster Pen with Affeldt
BBTF's Baseball Primer Newsblog —
MLB: Giants Bolster Pen with Affeldt The Giants outbid approximately eight to 10 other teams who expressed interest in Affeldt. Signing him probably won’t slow the Giants’ pursuit of other relievers, although they might suspend efforts to sign Joe Beimel, another left-hander. Right-hander Bob Howry has drawn interest from San Francisco, and right-hander Juan Cruz is believed to be on the club’s shopping list. The deal is for 2 years, $8M.
