New York Giants General Manager Jerry Reese is not biting on this Michael Strahan retirement talk . If it's a negotiation tactic on the part of Strahan and his agent Tony Agnone, it's not going to work. Reese made it abundantly clear yesterday on WFAN that if Strahan wants to retire, he's not going to try to stop him. [link]

Giants to meet with Simeon Rice

For me, the most interesting note to come out of the first full day of New York Giants raining camp had nothing to do with the action on the field. It had to do, of course, with the Michael Strahan situation. If Strahan is serious about retiring one option to replace him is free agent Simeon Rice. According to Newsday's Ralph Vacchiano, the Giants are looking into doing just that.
