I have the “unofficial” Lions depth chart going into tonight’s game. Just click to enlarge. The only thing that really stands out to me is Marinelli’s not having any rookie higher than 2nd string. Considering his well-known aversion to giving rookies major responsibilities, it’s to be expected. Thursday's preseason opener against the New York Giants will start at 7:00 p.m. ET, but it will not be shown on TV until 9:00 p.m. ET. That is because the game will be tape delayed , meaning the Lions weren't able to sell out all of their tickets. Detroit didn't ask for an extension or anything like that as I imagine they are quite a ways away from selling all the tickets. ...FAVRE TO TAMPA TALKS HEATING UP

Roy Williams wants to be here. That's what he says, and during camp, that's what he's showing. The Lions want Williams here. That's what they say, and during camp, that's what they're showing. From the Shutdown Corner over at Yahoo! comes this piece of comedic gold: the NFL is selling "Foamheads" for all 32 NFL teams.
