... ). How well is Gil Meche earning his $55 million contract? Very well, at least according to The Star ’s system. We award anywhere from zero to three points for each of Meche’s starts. A total of 55 points is the target. After nine starts, Meche is on pace for 84 points, assuming 33 starts in a season. If you scroll down in the article they break down the points that they re giving him for each start and what not. Interesting system to say the least. Honestly I m kinda glad he s finding success some where. I never want to wish ill will on anyone, but it seems as though once a player leaves the M s he goes on to be a better player. Though I don t have any real data at the moment to back it up. Though DOV has a thread up about that very thing .(you may need a subscription to read it) I suggest you go over and check it out, there s some fine minds working over at DOV that s for sure.
