BrianDaubach7 I agree. I don't believe Cashman is a good GM, but he finally did get the right idea this year by at least trying to develop some home-grown talent and he ripped off the Pirates and Tigers in the Nady, Marte, and Pudge deals.
Also, it's good to see that Felipe Lopez finally got canned. What happened to the guy who hit .291 with 23 HRs and 15 SB in 2005? He completely vanished when he left the Reds (maybe even before then) and we have no idea where that man went. He needs to do something to get back to a major-league level of play.

I don't see the big deal about the Yanks signing guys like Victor Zambrano and Eric Milton to Minor League contracts. I doubt either of these guys will sniff the big league roster and I doubt that their presence in the Minors is taking away from the development from any of the teams' top prospects. To me Cashman deserves criticism for the fact that right now Darryl Rasner and Sir Sidney Ponson make up 40% of the Bombers' starting rotation. Sure the Yanks have had their of injuries to the rotation, but Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy have not panned out this season the way Cashman had planned.
Additionally, though I am hesitant to give Cash to much credit he just swung lopsided deals to acquire Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte from the Bucs and then Pudge from the Tigers. Also, if you are going to give heat to Ed Wade for trading for Latroy Hawkins shouldn't we give Cashman some credit for getting a decent prospect a deal for a washed up reliever.
