... As golf blog reviewer Heather McMichael said recently, "With the U.S. Open right around the corner, golf bloggers are talking about ... everything but the coming major". Maybe that's because there are no catfights looming there. Nothing scandalous or salacious to report at all. The proverbial "Tiger/Phil duel"? Mmmmm, maybe. Kind of hard to write a compelling headline for that one though. Those guys are just too well behaved to conjure up exciting images for anyone other than die hard Tiger/Phil fans.

I was wondering how long it would take before one of the ladies with some clout on the LPGA piped up about how Michelle Wie is garnering tons of attention despite the fact that she hasn't really accomplished jack sh*t as a pro. That day is today, thanks to the best player on the circuit.

OK, the answer to that question is obviously yes, so maybe the real question should be: "Is Danica cracking?" Most have seen the incident in Sunday's race with Dan Wheldon and the resulting push Danica gave Wheldon afterwords. Danica and her father both called for Wheldon to be penalized for diving down on Danica.
