Scott Gomez scored a power-play goal that was nothing short of a gift from Islanders goalie Yann Danis, and it turned out to be the punchline and the game-winner in the Blueshirts' 3-1 victory over the Isles at the Garden.

Since the Islanders couldn't manage another goal, probably just another shootout where no one is a loser because the people demand a winner. Sean Bergenheim's knee is hurting after the idiotic knee-to-knee hit by Rangers minor league D-man Eric Reitz, who courageously let little Petr Prucha do his fighting for him. Nice.
The Rangers "got lucky." No argument. These two teams seem like the goal-less draw type. [NY ...

New York Rangers: It's Rock Bottom
bleacherreport.com 2/9/2009 — I'll say it, Scott Gomez: This is Rock Bottom. Gomez got quite testy with John Giannone last night when he referred to Friday night's 10-2 ass-beating by the Stars as rock bottom. Sorry Scott, it is what it is.
