  Here we go again. Another cocky, immature NBA player shooting his mouth off. Hey Lebron, why don't you just shut your mouth and just play hard and see if USA brings home the gold instead of guaranteeing a gold. It is an absolute embarrassment to the US when some idiot like you goes and guarantees something like that. No wonder other countries hate American sports. If you go and admit that the last team was filled with a bunch of ball hogs who just went out for their individual reasons and not as a team then maybe you'll grow up. You represent the United States of America, and when you make comments like the guarantee that you made, it reflects upon all of us here. Believe it or not, there is such a thing as sportsmanship and teamwork, none of which you carry at this moment. Any other country that reads this please accept our apology for one persons view. May the team who plays the best and represents their country in a sportsmanlike manner be the gold medal winner.

  I read the Time story today actually, and this isn't a 'Sheed style guarantee. There's no way if he's asked "Do you guarantee [a gold]?" he's going to say no.

  I know that sometimes players say things that you shake your head at, but c`mon now, if I was asked about winning a PlayStation3 tournament I would say "of course". Who (in their right mind) is going to say "nah, I am thinking of coming in fifth or sixth this year" when asked if they are going to win it all.

  And unlike the pro leagues, these guys are playing in this tournament of sort with the reality that they have nothing to gain and all to lose. Team USA wins the gold it was expected, but if they don't the fury of media coverage we will have on what has gone wrong.

  I know that the talent is there to win it all, what the US doesn't have is the time that most of these European team have together. And in when you are in a tournament such as the Olympics sometimes playing together for a while is better than great talent that hasn't bonded just quite yet.
