Grant is Over the Hill and Boris is Back
This news is all a day late and a dollar short, nobody comes back from 0-3, but the Phoenix Suns need to learn from this experience. Heading into 2008-09 Boris Diaw needs to be in the starting lineup, Grant Hill is not to be counted on and finding more creative ways to hide Steve Nash on defense has to be a top priority. [link]

Just Got HD? Time to Start in 3D

It's time to start Bad Ass Boris Diaw. Here's why.   The are two schools of thought going into Game 3.  One thought is that despite the Suns hiccups, they were close to stealing either Game 1 or Game 2 at the Alamo. ...

Suns still alive as Diaw and Bell lead Phoenix past Spurs in game 4
( AP Photo/Ross D. Franklin ) Raja Bell scored 27 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Boris Diaw, starting in place of Grant Hill, added 20 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the Suns past the Spurs 105-86 in game 4 of the first round playoffs series. San Antonio now leads the series 3-1 but the Suns are still alive ! Bell and Diaw made the difference on both sides of the ball. “ Boris ...
Boris Diaw as Savior
If Phoenix has any shot of pulling this off (my friend log5 -- discussed Saturday -- places the probability at 11%), Boris Diaw figures to continue in a leading role. Boom Boom had a near triple-double (20 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) and denied his buddy Tony Parker anything easy. He was as physically belligerent as any time since 2006, which is saying quite a bit if you remember his ...
Boris Diaw says he knows how to contain Tony Parker
The San Antonio Express-News (Mike Monroe) reports: Boris Diaw said he has a good “book” on how to defend his friend [Tony Parker]. “I think it does help a little bit because I’ve seen him play a lot,” Diaw said. “I kind of know sometimes when he wants to go to his floater, when he [...]
Surprise! Robert Horry Is A Dick
Every year, Robert Horry seems to win a ring. Similarly, every year Robert Horry tries to prove to the world that he is a jackass. Sadly, only one of these things is widely acknowledged by the American public (hint: it's not the second one). Last year, Horry famously kicked Steve Nash's ass , which resulted in getting Amare Stoudamire and Boris Diaw tossed from the series. Obviously, he would ...
Diaw’s Near Triple-Double Keeps Suns Alive, Scorches Spurs 105-86
The interesting thing about the first round series between the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns is that in two of the games, a Frenchman has made a big difference in the results of their team’s fortunes in each game; Tony Parker helped San Antonio in Game 3 as he scored 41 points in the Spurs’ win. Game 4 would find Phoenix Suns forward Boris ...
Apr. 27: Suns 105, Spurs 86
The AP reports: A Frenchman put Phoenix on the brink of elimination, another brought the Suns back to life. Boris Diaw fell two assists shy of a triple-double Sunday and the Suns avoided a first-round sweep at the hands of San Antonio with a 105-86 rout of the Spurs. Diaw, starting in place of injured [...]
Phoenix Fights Back: We Almost Maybe Kind-of Have a Series
34-13 is all you need to know about the whoopin' that the Phoenix Suns put on the San Antonio Spurs Sunday afternoon. That was the score after the first half, and even Gregg Popovich acknowledged that it was not so much what the Spurs weren't doing as it was what the Suns were doing. That would be getting ridiculously aggressive and, to use the classic boxing analogy, punching the Spurs hard ...
Why Yes, I’d Love a Glass of Ice Cold Kool-Aid
What's that you say? Boris Diaw will continue to play like a man possessed and Raja Bell will stay half as hot as he was today? Black Jesus will come back with a vengeance and Nash will look to shoot down the stretch? The defensive intensity will be off the charts in the last three games of the series? I like what I'm hearing. Pour me another glass. Say, got any vodka?
What’s Not to Like?
I woke up Saturday morning on the wrong side of the bed. The Suns pathetic effort in Game 3 put me in such a foul mood Friday night it carried over to Saturday morning. For now, the dark cloud has been lifted. Thank you Boris Diaw and Raja Bell. Thank you for the newfound defensive intensity, Suns. Thank you for channeling Coach Norman Dale and getting run for motivational reasons, Coach D. ...
The Spurs Decide To Clinch At Home
Today in Phoenix, the Suns got out early and often, building a 22 point lead at the half. They did it with activity and aggressive- ness on the defensive end, as both Shaquille O'Neal and the previously defense-free Amare Stoudamire were physical and involved. On the offensive end, they got a lot out of the previously MIA Raja Bell, and even some utility out of Boris Diaw, who was really ...
Apparently, acquiring Shaq made the Suns slower, older and worse: Gee, who would’ve figured?
They were defending Tony Parker with Boris Diaw at crunchtime last night. Really and truly. I guess the Suns might’ve been doing this all series (UGH!) but I really noticed it last night (switching between Sharks OT and Spurs-Suns Game 3), while Parker was massacaring Diaw, the Suns defense... Spurs beat Suns, 102-96
Yes, the Suns made a mini-run late. But this game — and maybe the series — was over with about five minutes to go with a crucial sequence near the San Antonio basket. Boris Diaw kept dribbling and backing in, dribbling and backing in, all the while failing to exploit a size advantage on the Spurs’ Manu Ginobili. (Alas for the Suns, endless dribbling and backing in has become ...
