Tuesday Thunderbolts: Uni reaction
The Thunderworld —
... Uni Watch: "These things are so generic, they might as well just have “Basketball Team” printed on the front and then they could have a cameo scene in Repo Man. It’s not like they’re ugly, mind you. Au contraire, the colors are reasonably pleasing, the road jersey typography would look pretty cool on a 1960s NCAA team, and the whole package is admirably gewgaw-free. But for an NBA team rebranding itself? It’s tempting to call it a joke, except jokes are funny. This is just sad." ...
Much ado about a stupid team name
The Big Picture —
... The other day the OKC Thunder debuted their thoroughly boring and stupid looking uniforms. Not only do they suck, but they in no way whatsoever represent the team name, the Thunder. I guess that's what you get when you name your team after a sound. Hard to represent that visually I suppose. ...

The Thunderworld —
... : "Uni Watch was originally less than impressed with the Thunder's uniforms. And yes, the team name is awful and the logo is a joke. But you know what? But you know what? That home uni looks pretty dang good out on the court. The colors pop, the type is sharp, and the whole thing looks crisp and clean, even from the back and sides. If this uni had already been in the league for a dozen years, we'd be praising it as a minor classic of no-nonsense design. Unfortunately, the road uni has major problems. For starters, the chest insignia is way too plain and top-heavy. ...
