It must've been pure torture over the years for consummate pro Al Bernstein to work with Steve Albert and Jim Gray but those were the good ole' days. Al meet the most over-the-top announcer in all of sports, Gus Johnson. Awful Announcing plucked this from Sports Business Daily: Showtime has hired Gus Johnson as the lead announcer on its "Showtime Championship Boxing" series. Johnson will continue to work as an announcer on CBS' college basketball and NFL games, as well as Big Ten Network basketball games. ...
