Hamilton Passes Isiah to Become Pistons' Leading Playoff Scorer
In the DETROIT FREE PRESS, Krista Jahnke writes "move over, Isiah. The Pistons have a new playoff scoring leader. Guard Richard Hamilton needed only 11 points in Game 5 to pass Isiah Thomas. He had that by the second quarter and finished the game with 31 points. 'It's a great honor," Hamilton said. "Isiah Thomas is Detroit basketball, and to pass one of his records is crazy to me because I haven't been here that long. But I don't get this if we don't win games.'"

Finished in Five - Pistons Take Down The Magic
Need4Sheed.com — ... Rip started the game cold, but boy did he do his part to heat the game up. He led the Pistons with 31 points in 41 minutes, surpassing Isiah's record and leading Detroit to another trip to the ECF. Something must be said for his gritty defensive effort on Lewis while diving for loose balls and pickpocketing the ball 4 times. Rip made it a point to get to the line all game long, it was his late game free trows that clinched it for The Pistons. Mr. Hamilton was a perfect 16-for-16 from the line. ...

Half way there
PistonsNationBlog.com — ... thing about the block is that it wasn’t Tayshaun chasing down Hedo from behind. It was a straight face-to-face mano e mano mid air swat. The timing was a thing of beauty. Richard Hamilton (31 pts, 4 stls) again stepped up his scoring to make up for the absence of Billups with another 30 point outing. Just as instrumental though was the Ripper’s guidance of Rodney Stuckey on the court. You could see Rip talking a lot to the rook through out the game. Rip’s scoring output also propelled past Isiah Thomas on the Pistons all-time playoff scoring list. Hamilton on returning to the ...

New Record Offers Chance To Praise Deserving Piston
CelticsBlog — A Daily Babble Production Hours after the Pistons had put the finishing touches on their conference semis match-up with the Orlando Magic this past Tuesday night, Columbia Missourian reporter Bill Powell had a question: "Do you think the Pistons end up raising Rip's number to the rafters in light of what happened tonight?" 'What happened' in Auburn Hills earlier this week was that Richard Hamilton broke Isiah Thomas' career Pistons playoff scoring record . With a 31-point effort in his 110th playoff game, Hamilton reached 2,282 playoff points as a Piston, surpassing ...

Meet the Detroit Pistons
CelticsBlog — ... Rip Hamilton – Just when you think everything had already been said about Hamilton – runs off screens, improved 3-point field goal%, Reggie Miller 2.0, wears that mask, efficient scorer, etc. – he goes out and becomes Detroit’s all time leading playoff scorer. Move over Isiah Thomas. I did not see that coming. It’s going to be important for Ray Allen to rebound and win the battle of the former UConn Huskies. As a side note why do I always forget that Hamilton is 6’7? ...
