Pelicans' right-handed ace Tommy Hanson has been promoted to Double-A Mississippi of the Southern League by the Atlanta Braves. The move was announced following the Pelicans 4-3 win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Saturday night. Hanson has dominated the Carolina League through seven starts posting a record of 3-1 and an ERA of 0.90.

The 6′6″ right-hander has a 3-1 record in seven starts with a 0.90 ERA and a 49/11 K/BB.
