Hawk: ‘I will be here a long time’ | All Things Colorado Sports
Stretching his opening remarks at Tuesday’s media luncheon to about 25 minutes, Colorado coach Dan Hawkins turned introspective and said he is "up to the task" to get the CU program headed in a winning direction. "I’m going to be here a long time," Hawkins said.

CU’s Hawkins states his case - The Longmont Times-Call
According to tailback Brian Lockridge, the players-only meeting was an effort to keep everyone’s spirits up. "It’s our team," Lockridge said. "Not the coaches’ team. It’s on us to take it upon us to turn the season around." Asked how that can be done, Lockridge said having fun in practice and playing with enthusiasm. "We’re not executing and having fun," Lockridge said. Receiver Scotty McKnight said Tuesday’s practice ...
Thursday Buff Bites - Mike Bohn "Pleased" With Dan Hawkins' Press Conference
The Ralphie Report —
"Writer's Block" - Behind the Stripes - ColumbiaTribune.com Dave Matter of the Columbia Tribune (Missouri) has a nice interview with Buff beat writer Kyle Ringo that is well worth the read to discuss Tyler Hansen, a potential Buffs' mini upset this weekend, Dan Hawkins' job status, the head coach's press conference and the CU fan base. I don't think you will find a third of the fan base that believes Dan Hawkins is genuinely the man for the job, though, as Kyle points out.

Woelk: Time for Buffs to play with chip on shoulders - Buffzone Couldn't have said it any better:
The Buffs need to play with a chip on their shoulders. Play like they care. Play like someone is trying to steal their lunch instead of acting like they`re willing to share. That`s what`s been missing far too often this season.

Sunday Buff Bites - Colorado Football Players Now Doubting Their Talent Level
The Ralphie Report —
... It was hard to do these Buff Bites today. Coach Hawkins is still saying the same things while the players are saying mostly the same quotes but now are doubting whether they have the talent to play with the rest of the Big 12.
Woelk: Solution to CU troubles not so difficult - Boulder Daily Camera Neill Woelk thinks the Colorado administration needs to follow what Nebraska and Kansas State did and bring back an old legend in Bill McCartney to act as an adviser to Dan Hawkins and the staff. CU: Scott-free: Tailback’s exit leaves football program reeling - The Longmont Times-Call
Other Buffs responded in different ways. Some were mad, others numb, others did not want to acknowledge more bad news coming from a 2-6 program that has fans threatening boycotts and protests. While Hagan conducted interviews, several Buffs walked by the scrum telling reporters to "get over it." But Hagan, the man who recruited Scott from Ventura, Calif., to Boulder when every other program in the nation craved his signature, could ...

Klatt met with coach Dan Hawkins early Wednesday afternoon after the Camera published a story Wednesday detailing Klatt`s concerns over a sign that had been painted over the in the team room. The sign was first painted on the wall during the coaching tenure of Bill McCartney and read, "The pride and tradition of Colorado football will not be entrusted to the timid or the weak." It was painted over to facilitate a new video system on the ...
Gameday Buff Bites - Colorado Buffaloes vs. Texas A&M Aggies
The Ralphie Report —
For starters, CU needs to get going early - The Denver Post I am absolutely disgusted at all of this talk about a lack of energy for the Buffs. I thought the Missouri game was a revenge game. The last two games against Kansas State and Missouri the Buffs had many things to play for but "guys weren't jacked up?"
The slow starts Colorado has had in some games this season make it appear its opponents are sprinting out of the blocks in track shoes while the Buffs give chase in flip-flops. Some ugly numbers: ...
Sunday Buff Bites - Playmaking, Timely Defense Leads the Way To Buffs' Victory
The Ralphie Report —
... no question about it. Part of the frustration with yesterday's win is the fact that you have to temper excitement because of what might happen next week. Colorado has been so inconsistent that many of us have bitten on a solid performance and started believing only to be dissapointed the next week (see Kansas this year). This game against Iowa State next week is a game the Buffs usually lose that leaves us scratching our head.
