Yesterday was a very busy day in the National Basketball Association, with twenty-two teams taking to the court and of those seven had ex Carolina players on it. Two of those teams met in a head to head showdown of old school UNC vs new school UNC. All of this means that it’s ...

I will be in the Greensboro Coliseum for this one and dropping updates via my Blackberry. The Heels should roll whether Ty Lawson plays or not. Comments if you have them.

Parrish: Defense Does Not Win Championships —
Tar Heel Fan
Hmmmmm…..
Gary Parrish is picking UNC to win it all :
But a top-four offense provides success more often than a top-four defense.
Consider: If you take the schools with the four most efficient offenses in the past five seasons, what you’ll find is that 11 of 20 made the ...
UNC only #1 not from the Big East —
The 5th Corner
We waited, we almost knew, but we wanted to make sure. In the end the committee decided that it would be a number one seed for North Carolina (28-4), top seed in the South, the only top seed not from the Big East Conference. The other three being Louisville (number one overall) playing in the ...

Last BlogPoll
The last blog poll of the season is ready to be unveiled. Of course the only poll that will count will be the one after the Final Four is over and done, but for now here is what I believe should be the rankings going into the first week of March Madness. There was plenty of ...
UNC SEEDED #1 IN SOUTH REGIONAL —
Tar Heel Fan
At first glance I think this is a good draw for the Heels.
UNC draws Big South champion Radford in the first round. After that the Heels are looking at the winner #8 LSU vs #9 Butler. LSU is the highest seeded SEC team and Butler is a mid-major who was less than impressive at times. ...

6:00 PM and I think CBS is the better option though ESPN will have something going on.
If I had to offer a prediction I think UNC will be the #2 overall seed. Louisville is going to snag the top spot followed by UNC, Pitt and either Memphis or UConn. That is a coin flip in my opinion.

You know last week in Raleigh it was sunny and 80 degrees. It was a great day to be outside but there was the UNC-Duke game so I was distracted. Today we have UNC out of the ACC Tournament and Duke playing FSU for the title so how is the weather here? Raining and 40 degrees. Gee, thanks.

Gutsy effort without Ty Lawson who would have undoubtedly made a huge difference. The other difference would have been a normal game from Danny Green who was 1-12. Better now than three weeks from now in Detroit should the Heels advance there.

Update: Roy Williams on ESPN just now: Ty Lawson will not play today.
This is a repeat of the 1992 ACC Semifinals. FSU had swept UNC in their first season in the ACC but the Heels won the tournament game and then lost to Duke the following day.

I’ll take it.
Tyler Hansbrough put this team on his back and took advantage of the Hokies foul problems to score 28 points including a key basket to give UNC the lead. Hansbrough was also involved in the controversial call near the end that some thought was a foul but was instead ...
Game 31: UNC vs. VT - FINAL - UNC Wins 79-76 —
UNC Basketball
UNC beats VT 79-76 to advance to the ACC Semi-Finals..............28-3...... I still can't believe that UNC won this game. VT led for most of the 2nd half with ADV going off after sitting for most of the 1st half. UNC played better control basketball in the 2nd half with fewer dumb plays but ...

The winner plays UNC, not that it matters at this point.
C.Michael reports the UNC fans are in the majority at the Georgia Dome and it has a cocktail party feel to as they are waiting around now to boo Duke.

According to C.Michael, Ty Lawson still has a limp and is not warming up. Consider him out for this one. That leaves the PG duties to Larry Drew ...
