Game 18: Hive Live
At The Hive —
... On the Charlotte side, there is little to talk about since we've already mentioned how Augustin scorched us. Overall, it was a lackluster performance from the Cats, but probably not the worst they could have done considering Gerald Wallace and Jason Richardson's absences (the latter of whom has played his last game as a Bobcat). They did show a bit of a surge during the fourth quarter, outscoring our bench 32 to 17, cutting our lead from 31 to 16. But... it's the Hornet's bench, so what are you gonna do, eh? ...
Reactions to the JRich Trade: Collective Bafflement
Rufus on Fire —
... Hollinger -- "So this time, it's Charlotte fans asking the questions. For starters, why did the team include Dudley? The trade worked without him, and he's an inexpensive quality performer because he's still on his rookie contract. A bigger question, however, is this one: How are the Bobcats going to score? They were 26th in the NBA in offensive efficiency, and were 30th before Richardson came back from an early-season injury. To trade him for two role players essentially damns Charlotte to finish at or near the bottom of the league in offense -- it's inconceivable that the team ...
J-Rich Departs, the Morning After
Amphibious Sports Duo —
... began for the Bobcats. The team sent leading scorer Jason Richardson and consumate glue guy Jared Dudley along with a 2nd round pick to the Phoenix Suns for Raja Bell, Boris Diaw, and Sean Singletary. Reactions have ranged from reserved optimism to outrage, but regardless of what some of the pundits are saying, this trade is a positive for this team. The immediate concern for the team will be scoring and who will take the big shot, but in all other aspects the team should be improved. ...

New Hollinger article says trade was a steal for the Suns
Fanster's Suns Community —
ESPN NBA Insider, John Hollinger, wrote a great piece recently of how the recent trade of Boris Diaw, Raja Bell, and Sean Singletary to the Charlotte Bobcats for Jason Richardson, Jared Dudley, and a 2010 pick was an absolute steal for the Suns. Ben's Note: Those who read this blog know I'm generally not a big fan of John Hollinger's PER ratings. While I do admit they are accurate and show (part) of a player's or team's value, there are other intangibles that do not get put into the equation. However, that's another topic for another day. Back to the point, Hollinger wrote a terrific piece on how this benefits the Suns. Plus, this goes along with what I wrote ...
Bobcats / Suns Trade Recap: Why this is a good deal for the Bobcats
BobcatsPlanet.com —
... can’t say I fully agree with the recent trade between the Suns and the Bobcats. As a Bobcats fan, I feel like we kind of got screwed with one caveat: We really weren’t lighting the world on fire with J-Rich and Dudley. The 3 players received in return, Diaw, Bell and Singletary add up to more than Jason Richardson and Jared Dudley and a 2nd round pick in 2010. It just sucks when everyone who knows anything about the NBA nationally says “Suns stole Richardson from hapless Bobcats.” Hollinger over at the worldwide leader broke it down pretty well. Biggest point I ...
The J-Rich Trade: A Look Back
Amphibious Sports Duo —
... This is the danger when you hire Larry -- that he'll almost immediately want to trade everyone on his roster and that the people in charge won't have enough spine or clout to wave off his requests. Clearly, the Bobcats don't qualify on the latter point. – ESPN’s John Hollinger ...
