Ain't no one in my book got Baller Status quite like Ice-T. The man personifies the term.
A bad ass, in yo' face, politically despised rapper that was targeted by the 1st Bush administration as much as John Lennon was targeted by Nixon. His song "Cop Killer" caused such an uproar, the Vice President of the United States, a punk ass bitch named Dan Quale was calling for the Iceman's head.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, a number of family trajedies lead to Ice attending Crenshaw High School in South Central Los Angeles. Tracy Marrow, his given name, was obsessed with rap, and came to respect a man he never met, famous pimp Iceberg Slim. In a 1996 reprint of Iceberg Slim's autography, Tracy "Ice-T" Marrow wrote "Although I never met the man, Iceberg Slim was to have a profound effect on my career and life... Like him, I wanted to be somebody who didn't just die there out on the streets. I wanted to be able to document some of my experiences, and that's what I've been trying to do in my music for the past decade. I took my rap name in tribute to him, and I've never regretted it. He was a real hustler."
Ice has hustled his way into a full time movie and television career, but has never left the outrageous too far behind. He married Nicole "Coco" Austin and they play the pimp-and-ho routine in public at every given opportunity. Coco, whose celebrity Playboy spread was dazzling to say the least, provides Ice with "Baller" status just by standing next to him.
So what's Ice got? How does he keep one of the most strippertastic women in the world happy and satisfied? Former wrestling writer, producer, and performer Paul Heyman interviewed Ice and Coco on "The Heyman Hustle," NewsCorp's launch into the broadband television market, and got the controversy a show like this must thrive on. Heyman got Coco and Ice to discuss Ice's love making technique, "The Stroke," and got Coco to take a spin or two around a poll in the plush Manhattan celeb hangout Plumm.
Ice got his buxom bride to brag about prowess. Coco got to promote her Playboy internationally, and is covered in bling. Heyman got a controversial rapper to talk about funny stuff one week on the show, and teased the 2nd part with Ice getting in George Bush's face.
So, you tell me, Ballers. Who hustled who?
