So, I took Dave Studeman’s Historical Win Shares File and calculated Jeter’s Win Shares Above Average (WSAA), from 1996 to 2007. Since a Win Share represents one-third of a team win, I then divided Jeter’s WSAA by three - in an attempt to determine how many wins Jeter got the Yankees over an average shortstop. Then, I subtracted those Jeter wins from the amount of games the Yankees finished above the team ...
