Hurricanes 3, Canucks 1Brendan Morrison scored late in the third to cut the Carolina lead to 1, but it didn’t matter as Carolina prevailed and pushed their record to 5-1-3 on the year. Cam Ward stopped a whole mess of shots (19!) and is now 5-0 in regulation this year.Using my many years of hockey knowledge and experience and other words that mean roughly the same thing, I can tell you that the Hurricanes are not a very good team if they have to play for more than 60 minutes. Shorthanded goals are like fire extinguishers . You hope one is handy and ready to go when you really, really need it. Fortunately for the Sharks, Milan Michalek pulled his own pin, aimed squeezed and swept. His shorthanded goal in the second was the difference-maker as the Sharks ultimately pulled away to a 4-1 win over the Flames. No fair piling on .
