I Just Don't See This Happening
I Just Don't See This Happening
I was online this morning and read Chris' piece in the Detroit News today about the Pistons and Flip Saunders. It stated that Flip may be back after all after meeting with Joe Dumars over the weekend. I just don't see that happening. I know Flip may have told Chris that, and heck, maybe Saunders believes it, but I would be so stunned beyond stunned if he returned as coach. Whether you like ...

Matt Dery believes Flip Saunders is done
Full-Court Press - A Detroit Pistons Blog — Matt Dery, the host of the pregame, halftime and postgame shows on the Detroit Pistons flagship station, WDFN-AM 1130, believes that despite reports to the contrary, Flip Saunders will be out as Detroit Pistons head coach in the near future. June 2, WDFN.com: Whether you like Saunders or not, he has failed to get the team to where they need to go and Joe knows it, Scott Perry knows it and Mr D knows it. We all know it. Maybe Dumars told Flip he is not going to make a change right now and for him to continue on with drilling draft prospects in the next few weeks, but that still ...

Chris Douglas-Roberts likely had no interest in playing for the Pistons
Full-Court Press - A Detroit Pistons Blog — Plenty of fans are still a little confused about the Pistons' draft-day strategy, especially regarding the selection of Walter Sharpe. Looking back at the polls from MLive.com's NBA Draft chat, the fan favorite selection at pick 29 was Memphis small forward, and Detroit native, Chris Douglas-Roberts. Well, details are now emerging that Douglas-Roberts didn't want to play for the Pistons. Below is an excerpt from Matt Dery's blog over at WDFN.com: June 28, WDFN.com: Shep filled in for Jamie yesterday on the WDFN morning show and one of the callers said that he was at CDR's house ...

Pistons Sign Walter Sharpe and Will Bynum
Need4Sheed.com — ... "A League source tells WDFN's Matt Dery that the Pistons are close to signing second round pick Walter Sharpe to a two year contract. Sharpe was the team's first of three second round picks out of UAB. Also, WDFN has learned that the Pistons have offered Will Bynum a one year deal to be their third point guard. Bynum played very well for the Pistons summer league team in Las Vegas." Via Matt Dery of ...

Around The Way
Need4Sheed.com — As Matt Dery told us a couple of days ago, the Pistons are giving Will Bynum a contract. It's a two year deal with the second year as a team option. Matt Watson of DBB's liked what he saw of Bynum in the Summer League, but DBB reader living in Europe isn't that convinced. Speaking of Matt, he had a chance to catch up with Amir Johnson for Fanhouse recently in Vegas. I promised myself I would try to support our sister team The Shock this season, but sadly still haven't made it to a game. I am sorry that this is the ...
