... The Celtics had the day off yesterday. Doc Rivers remained in the D.C. area to take his son, Jeremiah, a Georgetown freshman and basketball team member, out to dinner after the Bears-Saints game. Rivers, a Chicago native, is a big Bears fan.

... The Globe Notebook discusses Ryan Gomes' role on the team. His ability to play both the 3 and the 4 gives us versatility. Add that to Al's ability to play the 4 or the 5 and West's ability to move between the 1 and the 2 and we have great versatility in our lineups. Danny certainly hit a home run when he picked Gomes at #50. May also discusses Rondo's move ahead of Telfair and Bruce Bowen.
