Browns Sitting In the Basement of Sportsline Power Rankings
Published 5/9/2007 by JJ Cooper at FanHouse
... I don't think even the most optimistic Browns fan expects to see the Browns in the Super Bowl this year, and the realistic ones will be quite happy with some steady improvement and maybe a .500 record. But Pete Prisco's new offseason power rankings show the Browns no respect at all, ranking them dead lost, behind even the Ravens. I'm trying to figure out how the Browns could possibly rank behind the Raiders. During the offseason the Browns have completely revamped and improved their offensive line, added a talented if aging Jamal Lewis and should be able to count on improvement from a very solid 2006 draft class. That should make them at least a little better than last year. The Raiders on the other hand have traded away the team's best receiver, not fixed the team's massive offensive line problems and still show signs of being a dysfunctional team. Prisco's logic is that JaMarcus Russell will be ready to help bring the Raiders

If there was a bright spot in the defeat, though, it was the play of return man Joshua Cribbs. Cribbs returned a kick for a score 98 yards in the second half. It was the former college quarterback s second kick return TD of the year. If he keeps it up, he ll be representing the Browns in the Pro Bowl as the AFC s return man in February. Bills climbing the Power Rankings

... lands Buffalo at No. 16, one spot up from the week before. FOX wisely put the Ravens behind the Bills. Marshawn Lynch has been quietly solid all season. He had an explosive coming out party on Sunday, ripping up the Bengals for 153 yards on the ground. Lynch had a 56-yard TD run that put the game away late in the fourth quarter. He also threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Robert Royal with six minutes left. Many folks wrote the Bills off after starting the season with a 1-4 record. But since that devastating Monday night loss to Dallas, Buffalo’s won three straight games and has improved to 4-4 on the year. In the thick of the AFC Wild Card chase, the young Bills take on the winless Dolphins this weekend. CBS does one better, putting Buffalo at No. 15 Can it be? The Bills are .500. Give Dick Jauron loads of credit for keeping this team moving forward. This entry was posted on Tuesday, November 6th, 2007 at 2:33 pm and is file ...
