... SUPERMAN'S PAL: God bless the Internet. The blog The Lost Ogle tracked down the Red Sox fan in Baltimore who high-fived with Manny after Ramirez made his great catch Wednesday afternoon. Turns out he's a native of Oklahoma -- Barry Switzer's nephew, no less -- who became a member of the Nation in 2003 because his best friend at Oklahoma State was a New Englander who turned him onto the Sox. Despite the ruckus it caused in the media, he said no one sitting around him even realized he had high-fived Ramirez except for a husband and wife sitting next to ...

... listening to the radio broadcast. When he came out the next inning he just looked my way and smiled. Nothing really dramatic. I wish he'd come up and talked to me! I guess a high five will have to do. ... Anyways, I've got something to take back with me to Oklahoma and last forever. I'm now part of a Manny being Manny moment. lol... Talking To Manny's High Five Friend [Manny Ramirez]
Published 5/16/2008 by Will Leitch at Deadspin
Whatever your thoughts about Manny Ramirez and the Boston Red Sox, you had to love Manny's wild, patented "great catch, followed by high five, followed by doubling off a runner from first base" play from Wednesday. It was a signature Manny moment; insane, absurd, joyous. But what about the fan he high fived?
The Lost Ogle blog has an interview with Randy Dunning, the recipient of the famed five. The guy is as agog as you'd expect.
When it happened all I was thinking was, holy crap, heck yeah! You can see me point down to Manny after the catch. I ...

... for the big bucks of the Red Sox (when they started becoming lousy big-spending jerks like the Yankees), but watching him snap out of a daydream and make a great defensive play still brings a smile to my face. Needless to say, I was delighted to see this running catch, jump on the wall to high five a Sox fan, then throw back in to complete the double play a couple of nights ago. Over at The Lost Ogle.com (via Deadspin), they tracked down and interviewed the recipient of Manny's high five. ...
