The San Antonio Snores, the Utah Jazzless, the Detroit PissedOns, and the Cleveland Lebrons in the NBA's final 4? Say it ain't so!

The NBA Season is Over [GSoM]

Has the 2006-2007 NBA season come to an early end?

Yup- wake me up for the NBA Lottery and the NBA Draft in June

Would Golden State of Mind thought that the season was over if their team advanced to the conference semis? While none of the teams play an exciting, up-tempo style, the Spurs, Jazz, and Pistons are all excellent execution basketball teams. It may not be exciting, but it's good basketball.

Not sure I understand your first question, but keep in mind there's 5 authors at GSoM and I'm only one of them. Aside from the Warriors' monumental upset of the Mavs, this season's playoffs have NOTHING on last year's thrilling playoff run.

I agree that the Spurs and Pistons are very good basketball teams. I give the Jazz all the credit in the world for winning Game 7 in Houston and actually winning a game in Oakland in the 2nd round. Still, they're all pretty painful to watch. I'm not in the minority either, just watch the TV ratings plummet for the rest of the playoffs.

with the Warriors and Suns both gone, I am really done caring about the playoffs. I'll watch all the games, in hopes of seeing someone take down the Spurs, but, yeah... yeeesh.

utah plays uptempo (v golden st) and half court (v houston).. duncan/boozer, parker/williams are great match-ups inside the series.. the east isn't too exciting but lebron's gonna have to act like he cares now..right? right? mcdyess wants a ring badly and c-webb won't get a better look than this. im in. plus it's the playoffs. what's better than the playoffs no matter the sport?

Here's a thought, if everyone is so interested in seeing the Warriors and Suns continue playing, maybe they should have better teams.

      Haha, that's very true.

The Jazz are a better team than the Warriors and the Spurs are better than the Suns.

Perhaps a couple rebuttals would further the discussion. Simply saying "you're wrong" is easy but does nothing... please elaborate next time. Thanks

I'll certainly miss watching the W's and the Suns.  But the bigger issue for me (and another point made in the GSoM post) is the fact that neither conference final series is expected to be competitive.  I can't remember seeing odds this lopsided this late in the playoffs.

Being a Portland fan, if I was to decide the season was over purely because my team had reached its demise, there would be many short NBA seasons for me!

I believe that's poor sportsmanship to decide that it's all over because your team is out and the other teams don't play the style which you find the most entertaining. GSW for one, went further than many people expected. GSW fans should be happy with the result, looking forward to their team improving for next season and scouting who their team has to beat next season to go all the way!!

Maybe next year there can be a rule limiting passes to 10 per quarter and perhaps a ban on opening your eyes on defense ... or maybe just do these three things.

I was so hoping for Pheonix or the Warriors ... stupid Big Fundamental.
