Out of all of the inventions surrounding Sports broadcasts the worst hands down was the glow puck. It wasn't necessarily the glowing itself, but more the fact that the glow would never stay with the puck. Well that and the stupid red rocket-like tail that would pop up on slapshots. There have been some truly awful inventions in our time. Like the flatulence deodorizer, the jet-powered surfboard, and the snooper camera. Yesterday's news that Versus would like to begin using some sort of "puck-tracking" technology on its NHL broadcasts immediately caused concern that the "glow puck" would soon bring its ugly, comet-tailed awfulness back to televised hockey.
