The Isles waived Mitch Fritz and called up Trevor Smith from Bridgeport. Smith, 23, will make his NHL debut today. He leads the Sound Tigers with 18 goals.
Nice moment before the game: Fritz, on his way out -- he'll surely clear waivers and head to Bridgeport -- telling Tim Jackman how to handle Nick Tarnasky, the Panthers' resident fighter.
