KANSAS CITY - The slide is over.
Two games into the 2007 season, the Red Sox have entered the win column by virtue of a 7-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals tonight before 22,348 at Kauffman Stadium.
After a good night's sleep, we'll return tomorrow afternoon for the major league debut of Daisuke Matsuzaka, who won't have to go into the game in the "stopper" role.

... The Royals took out Curt Schilling in Game One but were no match for Josh Beckett in numero dos. They mustered just two hits over five innings, while Kevin Youklis and Mike Lowell drove in two runs apiece in the 7-1 win. Lowell's RBI were a helpful way to balance out his miserable day in the field. He made three errors something he'll hope to avoid in today's long awaited Dice-K debut.
