Chamberlain begins move to rotation
Published 5/22/2008 by Eric Stashin at Roto Professor
According to espn.com (click here for the article), the Yankees have begun to stretch Joba Chamberlain out in order to move him to the starting rotation.  The process started last night, when he pitched the final 2 innings against the Orioles, giving up 1 hit and 2 walks, striking out 3.  There was no word as to when they have targeted Chamberlain’s move or when he may go down to the minors to get a few starts. The Yankees have been struggling this season at 21-25, last in the AL East.  Still, the one advantage that they had was that when they got a lead, they had two lights ...

Yanks beat Other Team 8-0

... Again last night, when the Yankees turned the tables and smoked Baltimore 8-0, ESPN.com’s headline made it sound like an intrasquad game: “Joba starts to convert, A-Rod has HR in Yanks’ win.” Even more irritating than their obsession with all things New York is ESPN’s insistance on familiarity. “Joba” and “A-Rod” are OK in the New York Post. But last time I looked, ESPN.com had readers in Flyover, USA as well as New York. ...

... , I had this to say: A dismal week for the Yankees ends on a high note with the return of Alex Rodriguez (4-for-11 with two doubles and two homers after a 17-game absence) and strong performances from Darrell Rasner and Ian Kennedy. The former puts together his third straight quality start, lowering his ERA to 1.89, while the latter finally gets his ERA down to Boeing territory (7.27) with just his second quality start out of seven. More help is on the way for the Yanks, who begin Joba Chamberlain's ...
