Chamberlain begins move to rotation

According to espn.com (click here for the article), the Yankees have begun to stretch Joba Chamberlain out in order to move him to the starting rotation. The process started last night, when he pitched the final 2 innings against the Orioles, giving up 1 hit and 2 walks, striking out 3. There was no word as to when they have targeted Chamberlain’s move or when he may go down to the minors to get a few starts. Again last night, when the Yankees turned the tables and smoked Baltimore 8-0, ESPN.com’s headline made it sound like an intrasquad game: “Joba starts to convert, A-Rod has HR in Yanks’ win.” Even more irritating than their obsession with all things New York is ESPN’s insistance on familiarity. “Joba” and “A-Rod” are OK in the New York Post. But last time I looked, ESPN.com had readers in Flyover, USA as well as New York. ...
