Oklahoma City lost to Charlotte 103-97 on Wednesday, dropping the Thunder to 2-17 on the season and putting them in a rather undesirable position as the season nears the quarter pole. At this rate, the Thunder will finish with a record of 9-73, which would tie them for the worst record of all ...

John Hollinger says OKC won't be the worst ever - but may get close
The Thunderworld —
Is this good news? Like, is this supposed to be encouraging? (Hollinger's column and Worst Team Watch, a delightful little thing ESPN has to track where OKC ranks worst all-time.) At this point, I guess we take what we can get. The league's worst ever record is held by the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers, a club that went 9-73. Hollinger writes that OKC is actually one ahead (or behind, however you want to look at it) of the Sixers pace. In one of the 5,000 season simulations they ran, the Thunder finished with just one more win - 3-79. But here's the key statement: "But all these scenarios depend on whether the Thunder continue to play as badly ...
National Attention!
Bend It Like Bennett —
Today, ESPN dedicated their NBA front page to showering Oklahoma City with glorious attention. God it feels amazing. As I noted yesterday, ESPN will be following the Thunder this season in their pursuit of history. John Hollinger notes: "Although this is still terrible, it's a big improvement on the 1-12 mark and minus-12.3 margin under Carlesimo. (And as one Seattle jokester noted, Brooks already tied Carlesimo's record for the most wins by a coach in Thunder history.)"I don't know who this "jokester" is, but he certainly has an impressive grasp of NBA history. Also, you won't want to miss David Berri's darn fine ...

The Thunder is (or is it the Thunder are?) now 2-17 and on pace to win nine games all season.
Luckily for them, however, a new use for a basketball hoop has been discovered: ...
