Jon Heyman: Home run king Bonds still waiting for an offer - Jon Heyman - SI.com
All-time home run king Barry Bonds is at home in one of the fanciest sections of Beverly Hills, Calif., waiting for word about a job, and some might say that isn't such a terrible price to pay. Those folks say he shouldn't complain for even one second. But people who know him say he desperately wants to play baseball and still can't believe no one wants him. Whether or not you believe Bonds' ... [link]

No Offers For Bonds
Published 4/23/2008 by Tim Dierkes at MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
... Jon Heyman recently spoke to Barry Bonds' agent, Jeff Borris.  Borris said no team has made any kind of offer to Bonds, even at the league minimum.  Borris might not take $400K for Bonds, but he'd listen. ...

Off the Ledge
Published 4/24/2008 by halejon at The Mockingbird
... Well, whaddyah expect when you’re forced to field this lineup due to injuries? Add Rolen, Lind, Rios and Overbay in there at the end of this week and you’ve got a team. Overbay confirms that Champion field sucks. The Jays could sign Bonds with the league minimum salary they get from the A’s signing Thomas (if you take his agent literally). Josh Banks was claimed by the Padres. On Wednesday’s call-in with Ricciardi, J.P. laughed off both Bonds as being not that ...

... Jon Heyman at SI.com gives us the latest on the Barry Bonds* saga. Bonds, MLB’s all-time home run leader, is waiting patiently back in his Beverly Hills home waiting for his phone to ring, and for someone to make him an offer. Apparently, even with all the baggage he has, Bonds* can’t believe that nobody has come calling for his services yet. ...

Baseball Today: Thursday, April 24

... Wild Bill Hagy for one night and the result was magical. (Baltimore Sun, video included) L.A.'S FINE, BUT IT AIN'T HOME. NEW YORK'S HOME, BUT IT AIN'T MINE NO MORE: Joe Torre is finding that scoring runs is much more difficult with the Dodgers than it was with the Yankees, and being saddled with the rotting carcass that is Andruw Jones isn't helping. (yahoo.com) THE 'C' WORD: Barry Bonds' agent is again talking collusion as he finds zero interest for his client. (si.com) IN MEDICAL NEWS . . . ...

Still no job for Bonds
Published 4/25/2008 by Bjoern at Mojo Blog
... really get Bonds for a low seven figure offer, I’m sure at least some offers would come in. If he proves to be too big of a distraction, you can still cut him like the Jays did with Frank Thomas. It really looks like the teams either want to go with the (younger) players they have or want to send a signal (what signal would that be?). Pick what is more plausible to you. His personality or legal worries alone can’t be the reason he is still not playing. Link: Bonds market still uncertain; HR king waiting for offer

A hidden dent in Frank Thomas’s value?

Wednesday, April 23, 2008 A hidden dent in Frank Thomas’s value? Posted by Derek Carty at 3:34pm No team has made an offer at any price at any time. That's a simple fact. At this point in time, no club has even offered the minimum salary. And even though the minimum salary wouldn't be a bona fide offer for a player of his stature, it's beyond comprehension that no team [has made] ...
